I love seeing cool pix from a ghetto studio. (I should talk -- you should see how cluttered my dining room is right now.) Reader Jim Poyner uses a little black paper to simplify the scene. Which is far preferable to spending 20 mins tidying up the room.

That's a normal double-fold umbrella if I am not mistaken. But next to that baby it is like an 8-foot Octabank. That ring thing at the end is one of those store-bought $260.00 ringflash adapters and I think I saw a Dave Honl snoot making an appearance in there, too.
