Rising Oil Prices Will Bankrupt Us All
Had to get a carshare car for an errand this morning. In the good old days they had company gas credit cards in the cars, until people started busting the windows and stealing them. Now they have people who try to keep the cars fueled, but if it goes below a quarter tank you have to fill it up on your dime and then send them the receipt for credit. And, yes, $3.49 is expensive!
I've written about carshare before, but let me just restate that it really is the service which makes being carfree desirable over the long run. Cars are useful things, and sometimes you "need" one to a greater or lesser extent. I've always hated borrowing other peoples' cars, and the fact is fewer and fewer of my friends have them anyway.
