Bits and Pieces, June 26th

Sadly, vacation is over and we are leaving the lake house in Florida to fly home today.

Having a lot of time to simply sit and think has yielded a lot of new ideas for Strobist, and you will be seeing several of them get implemented very shortly.

One will be something called "Off The Rack," in which we'll begin a regular session of seeking out strong magazine covers (with respect to the lighting, anyway ) and backwards engineering the light in open discussion.

I hope to find the photogs responsible and post a little (e-mailed) dialog from them, too.

I am also scheduled to do two "podcast" interviews in the next few days. When they are posted on their respective sites, I will post the links here, too. Mom always said I had a good face for radio.

The headshots are really looking great. Some are just fantastic. In addition to the experience the assignment is giving many of you, it is giving me a great cross-sectional look at the bell curve of the readership's ability level. This will allow me to better tailor the articles to you guys.

You still have a little more time to polish off the first assignment if you are participating.

We'll go over them later this week, and a new assignment will be posted.

I'll be back in full swing tomorrow - tan, rested, ready and full of new energy.
